An Alien Asteroid Is In Reverse Orbit Around Jupiter
New research in our solar system states that an asteroid of alien origin is currently in a reverse orbit around Jupiter.
The extraterrestrial celestial body has been orbiting our biggest planet in the wrong direction for billions of years.
The alien asteroid, which is called 2015 BZ509, began life in another solar system. However, it is now permanently situated within our system and has been for around 4.5 billion years.
A recent study published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters, states that the asteroid of extraterrestrial origin has been hiding in plain sight since the formation of our solar system.
The bizarre asteroid was actually discovered three years ago. A team at the University of Hawaii used the Panoramic Survey Telescope And Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS) to track the object. The Pan-STARRS is used to track any asteroids that may pose a threat to Earth.
Upon discovery Paul Wiegert, a Canadian astronomer noted two strange things about the alien asteroid;
- The orbit of the extraterrestrial object is in reverse. Meaning it travels in the opposite direction to planets and the majority of asteroids.
- It travels at the same speed as Jupiter and within its orbit. Usually, this would mean it would collide with the gas giant. But observations noted that the asteroid weaves in and out of Jupiter’s path.
Astrological studies calculated at the Western University of London state that the asteroid will be free of impact from Jupiter for the next 1 million years.
But how has the asteroid ended up in such a strange orbit?
Extraterrestrial Celestial Body
Helena Morais from the Universidade Estadual Paulista, Brazil, and Fathi Namouni from the l’Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, France, propose an explanation for its bizarre behavior.
- It is alien. It is not from here.
Both Morais and Namouni created a complex simulation to track the orbit of the alien asteroid. It took them to the creation of our solar system.
The pair observed a countless number of possibilities that would result in a truer understanding of the extraterrestrial celestial body.
The results of their simulation took them back as far as 4.5 billion years ago.
During the formation of our solar system, all planets, asteroids and other objects were put into a one-way directional orbit. Therefore, anything within our solar system that has an opposite orbit must have originated outside of our system before this one-way gravitational orbit was put into place.
This is not the first extraterrestrial objects to enter our solar system. Last year a cigar-shaped asteroid traveled the distance of space to enter our area.
As we continue to study our solar system, we expand our understanding.

The research was led by Durham University. It suggests life is a lot more common than we could ever imagine.
A research team at Durham teamed up with a number of scientists from universities in Australia produced a number of simulations with the EAGLE (Evolution and Assembly of Galaxies and their Environments). EAGLE is currently one of the most realistic simulations we have of the universe.
The team wanted to look at how a variety of Dark Energy levels might affect the development of life – more so on how it affects the formation of stars and planets.
The model simulations of an increased and decreased amount of Dark Energy still allowed for the creation of planets, stars and for life to evolve.
Pascal Elahi is a co-author on the research project and researcher for Western Australia University. He said they wanted to know how much or less Dark Energy needed to exist before life could no longer develop.
